Central Harlem has been a cultural and artistic mecca since the 1920’s and the birth of the Harlem Renaissance where it gained notoriety for its diverse population and rich heritage. Central Harlem extends from the north end of Central Park at 110th street up to the Harlem River, and from 5th to St. Nicholas Avenues.
