Immerse yourself in the vibrancy of Harlem through a walking tour led by John Reddick.

As an architect and Harlem historian, Reddick uses his knowledge of history and architecture to connect the exhibition The Harlem Renaissance and Transatlantic Modernism to the creative energy that has shaped the Harlem community throughout history.

Join a walking tour focused on artists' interpretations of Harlem and their lasting impact on Harlem's streetscape. From Van der Zee to Romare Bearden, this tour includes the Harlem Hospital murals and the Aaron Douglas murals at the Schomburg Center and the Harlem YMCA.

Discover the Langston Hughes House through a walking tour that focuses on the LGBTQA+ circle of Carl Van Vechten and Langston Hughes, drawn from their correspondence and Van Vechten's photos. Take a deeper dive into the locations that define these complicated circumstances.

Experience the evolving Black and Jewish music culture of early 20th-century Harlem. Delve into the history of Harlem Ragtime and the Jazz Age, and learn about the cultural and musical intersections that continue to illustrate Harlem today.
